HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
The Purple Orchid- Costa Rica's national flower!
Today was an "on your own" day so we just hung around the hotel grounds and explore the area around here. Though the country's national flower is the purple orchid there is just a tremendous amount of birds of paradise all over the area here. The foilage in Costa Rica is 2nd to none!
After our little exploration we once again hung around the Serenity pool had a few drinks listened to nature before the thunder lightning and the torrential rainstorm came which started at about 3 PM or so. *Wow what a storm that lasted about 15 hours or so. Throughout the night the thunder and cracks of lightning would have woken up the dead for sure! The loudest and scariest "Booms" we've ever heard during a thunderstorm!
We were able to have a nice dinner on this Mother's Day but what a crazy Thunderous Evening!!
That's it for today's entry! Tomorrow our 30th anniversary celebration where we go snorkeling with sea turtles, a nice sunset cruise, then having our anniversary dinner at Copa de Arbol's Private "Top of the Tree" private dining room.
