On our Cinco DE Mayo celebration we just hung out all day long at our Springs Resort! It's fantastic to do these tours but almost no need to leave this resort at all! After breakfast in the morning we found the monkey slide and the other volcanic pools. Though it poured rain it did clear up in the early afternoon. Once about 3 o'clock hit the Arenal Volcano became completely visible and it stayed that way all day and into the night and even into the next morning. Just an absolute stunning site!
In the afternoon we of course hung out at the swim up pool bar and met some new friends - Marc and Tory from Manhattan/NYC! They were tons of fun and we laughed a lot at the drunk Costa Rican girls who kept creeping around us. But in a fun way!
After the downpour the weather was absolutely perfect Sunny skies picture perfect Volcano views and a tremendous evening where we sadly had to pack and get ready for the early morning on May 6th for our sesna flight to the Osa Peninsula/Drake Bay.
We will definitely be back to this resort. Next time we will take advantage of Club Rio on the grounds. You can go floating down a tube, kayak, horseback ride and they even have a little zoo.
The Springs resort & Spa is definitely the greatest hotel we ever stayed at and rated number one in all of Costa Rica!
